The TrainStation community has officially provided over $51,000 to the National Museum of Railroad History & Innovation in Baltimore, USA. During the campaign, the museum (formerly known as the B&O Railroad Museum) actually entered an exciting new chapter with a new name, reflecting their growing mission to preserve, celebrate, and inspire the future of railroading.
Supporting the Birthplace of American Railroading
Founded in 1827, this museum stands on the historic birthplace of American rail transport. It holds one of the most significant collections of historic locomotives and rolling stock in the entire world. Through heavy restoration work, educational programs, and dedicated volunteers, the museum ensures that future generations can experience the magic of railroading.
During this partnership we looked closely at the story of the American Freedom Train No. 1. After carrying national treasures across all 48 contiguous states during America’s Bicentennial celebrations, the locomotive was left exposed to decades of weather and neglect. Thankfully, dedicated restoration teams stepped in. Today, it proudly stands once again as a symbol of American railroad history.
And our player community has now become a permanent part of that ongoing story.
